2013
Tag Changes for 2013.
May 4, 2013 - Replacement tags are available if needed. There are 2 options to acquire new tags: go to the Cheticamp Monitoring Association office in Cheticamp or call the office (902) 224-1100 or toll free 1-888-564-5554 and have them mailed to you.
For both options you require the tag number(s) of the tags you want to replace.
- If you choose to pick up your tags, the office is open 7 days a week from 9am to 10 pm, except Sundays when they are open 10am to 10pm. Please call ahead if you intend to pick up your tags so they can have everything ready when you get there.
- Receiving your replacement tags by mail takes 1 business day as long as your request is received before noon.
For either option, there is a flat rate: $5+HST gets you up to 2 tags and $2 + HST per tag after that.
April 5/ 13 - Tags should be arriving in the mail any day - they will arrive COD and cost $0.50 each.
Effective April 1, 2013.
As of April 2013, DFO will no longer provide tags. All fishers will be required to obtain tags from an independent authorized supplier. In order to simplify things, DFO has requested that local suppliers order tags for all fishermen based on fisher association lists.
Therefore, all Inverness South members tags have already been ordered and should be received in the mail around April 1, 2013.
Tags will arrive COD and will cost $0.50 per tag.
All tags for Inverness South have been ordered through Cheticamp Monitoring Association.
If you have any questions regarding your tags, contact:

March 29, 2013
DFO has sent out the membership forms for the new Central Registry - watch for it in the mail soon.
March 15, 2013.
IMPORTANT: DFO is now recommending that all fishers NOT use the online system to renew their licences this year and instead renew their licences at the DFO offices before they close on March 28, 2013. They are citing unspecified problems with the online system as the reason.
Effective April 2013
As of April 1, 2013, all DFO licencing offices will be closed and fishers will be required to use the new Online Licencing System.
Demonstration sessions are being offered to help familiarize fishers and their crew with the new online system.
These sessions are scheduled for:
